Allotted holidays will be specified in the institution’s calendar as per the MUHS list of holidays. The Principal/Director holds the final authority to declare holiday on any other circumstances. The students are requested to contact the office for further information.

Anti-Ragging and Conduct:

The institute has formulated a strict anti-ragging guideline, wherein all students, who have taken admission in the Institute, are required to sign an undertaking to abide by these guidelines. Students, found violating these guidelines are liable to strict disciplinary action, which includes expulsion from the institute. The Management has the jurisdiction, to change or modify the rules and regulations, as and when deemed necessary, in order to maintain decorum in the eye hospital premises. The management, reserves the right, to take strict disciplinary action, against the students for their misconduct and subordination

Dr. Chandrasekhar Wavikar (Principal)

Dr. Wavikar is considered as a key opinion leader in advanced cataract surgery and LASIK. He has pioneered laser cataract surgery and was the first eye surgeon in Asia to perform bladeless cataract surgery by this path breaking technology. Dr. Chandrashekhar Wavikar graduated from Grant Medical College and did his post graduation from Grant Medical College (Sir J. J. Hospital). He followed it up with obtaining international training in his specialized area of expertise:

  • Training in refractive surgeries namely Phakic IOL, PRL, PRK, and LASEK in Italy.
  • Training in LASIK by Wavelight in Germany.
  • Training in DSAEK [Endothelial Keratoplasty] in Singapore.
  • Accredited for implantation of RESTORE multifocal IOL & Acrysof Toric IOL by Alcon.
  • Training in laser refractive surgery in Australia.

Dr. Chandrasekhar Kale (Vice Principal)

Dr. Chandrasekhar Kale is the Vice Principal of Wavikar College of Optometry.He is a practicing Pediatric Ophthalmologist and squint specialist.He has done MS Opthalmology from KEM hospital.He underwent his fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology from prestigious institute of Narayana Netralaya, Bangalore.He has 15 years of experience in Ophthalmology.
