Wavikar Eye Institute provides Phaco Fellowship Programs to master the technique of Phacoemulsification, a cutting edge method in Cataract surgery.

During the fellowship programme fellow doctor is provided an exposure to various clinical scenarios. Adequate care is taken to impart them clinical pearls in pre, post and surgical management of Cataract.

Following fellowship programs are offered

  1. Short Term Phaco Fellowship
  2. Long Term Phaco Fellowship

Short Term Phaco Fellowship Program

    • Duration – One Month

 

    • Eligibility Criteria – The candidate must have completed DOMS (Opth.) or DNB (Opth.)

 

    • Objective – To have a quick hand on learning in the Advanced Cataract surgical procedure.

 

    • Fellowship Description – This is the Crash Course training provided to the fellows. The fellow is guided in sequential steps for preparedness for surgeries.

 

    • Evaluation – The fellows are continuously evaluated during  each step and at the end of the fellowship program. The members of faculty in charge review & evaluate the performance of each fellow.

    • Certificate – Wavikar Eye Institute will facilitate the fellows with ‘Fellowship Certificate’ on successful completion of the fellowship.

 

Long Term Fellowship Program

    • Duration – One Year

 

    • Eligibility Criteria – The candidate must have completed DOMS (Opth.) or DNB (Opth.)

 

    • Objective – To train the Ophthalmologist through advanced and exhaustive program to enhance skills in the recent advances in cataract diagnosis and management.

 

    • Fellowship Description – This is the more advanced course with total 360 degree approach. The fellow is guided in sequential steps for preparedness for surgeries. The fellow participates in all aspects of hospital including academic conferences, resident training and OPD managements. The fellow is mentored by none other than Dr.C.M.Wavikar

 

    • Evaluation – The fellows are continuously evaluated during each step and at the end of the fellowship program. Here, the fellows are asked to complete self-evaluation document before the commencement of fellowship. The members of faculty in charge review & evaluate the performance of each fellow.
