Contoura Lasik

Contoura Lasik in Thane

What is Contoura Vision?

Contoura Vision is a type of LASIK eye surgery that provides customized vision correction by treating both the refractive error and the irregularities in the corneal curvature.Better visual outcomes, such as enhanced contrast sensitivity and night vision, are the goal of this technology. It is also referred to as topography-guided LASIK.

Vision correction takes on a new dimension with Contoura Lasik. Femto, Eximer, and Topolyser lasers are used in a three-step correction technique utilized in Contoura Lasik. This helps in correction of visual axis, corneal irregularities. It also provides an aspheric correction of spectacle power. This results in achieving an ideal optical surface.

The visual outcomes achieved from this procedure are far better than any conventional LASIK or SMILE procedures. Conventional LASIK and SMILE procedures can provide normal 6/6 (20/20) vision, whereas Contoura can potentially deliver better than perfect results of up to 6/5 (20/16) or even better. Contoura vision decreases many of the common symptoms associated with LASIK AND  SMILE such as light sensitivity,  difficulty driving at night, Starbucks, glare and halos.

Who is the Right Candidate for Contoura Vision?

The right candidate for Contoura Vision procedure typically meets the following criteria:

  • Patients having refractive disorders with eye symptoms like light sensitivity, difficulty driving at night, difficulty reading, intolerance to glare, starbursts, and halos.
  • Individuals must be at least 18 years old with a stable health for at least one year.
  • Overall health must be good.
  • There should be absence of comorbidities such as uncontrolled diabetes, autoimmune diseases, or other systemic health issues that can affect healing and outcomes.
  • Patients should not have eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, keratoconus, or severe dry eye syndrome, as these conditions can complicate procedure and recovery.
  • Adequate corneal health

Preparation for Contoura Vision

  • You will undergo vision testing, complete eye health check, and eye surface mapping and eye measurements. Based on these results, your doctor will decide whether to proceed with the procedure or not.
  • Since contact lenses can change the shape of your cornea, stop wearing them for the recommended period of time prior to the procedure. Generally, this period is one week for non toric lenses and three weeks for toric lenses.
  • Your eye surgeon might also suggest that you cease taking any medications that raise the possibility of bleeding during the procedure.
  • One or two days prior to the procedure, an antibiotic eye drop might be given.
  •  You’ll be told to fast for 3 hours prior to the procedure.

Procedure for Contoura Vision

  • The eye surgeon uses a specialized laser to reshape your cornea according to your recent detailed eye map in order to improve your vision and correct refractive errors.
  • The whole procedure is generally completed within 30 minutes.

Post-Procedural Care for Contoura Vision

  • Shortly after the procedure, you might feel some eye discomfort or experience blurred vision for sometime. A bandage contact lens will be applied  to protect your eyes.
  • Follow the post-operative instructions as directed, which include applying eye drops on time and avoiding activities that could strain your eyes.
  • Most people go home within an hour after the surgery
  • Within a few days following the surgery, your vision should start to improve.
  • To track healing and ensure the best outcomes, don’t fail to show up for the planned follow-up appointments.

Contoura Vision can treat corneal irregularities in addition to refractive errors, unlike traditional LASIK, which only corrects refractive errors. This results in improved vision quality, contrast sensitivity, and night vision.

Although recovery times vary, most patients report better vision in just a day or two. It’s critical to adhere to post-operative care guidelines, which include using recommended eye drops and avoiding physically demanding activities.

Although it is a safe procedure, some risks associated with this procedure include glare, halos around lights, and dry eyes. Most side effects are temporary and patients may get better with time.

The effects are usually long-lasting, though aging may cause some changes in vision. You can track the health of your vision over time with regular eye exams.

The cost of Contoura treatment  at Wavikar Eye Institute is Rs 24,000/- (contoura Both Eyes) + Rs 80,000 ( bladeless Lasik Both Eyes) = Total Rs 1,04,000
